This post spawned from yesterday’s post. I wanted to put this in yesterday, but got word-dumb and needed to walk away.
My Bro and I reached a few conclusions during our chat on the good ship Chemo. This one conclusion stuck.
Facts are the cards Life deals to those who are seated at the table. All people sit at the card table of Life and play every hand they’re dealt. Is there a need to go deeper on these two facts?
Our role is to play the hand that we were dealt. Everyone at the table must play their hand as it is dealt. Mindset is the essential ingredient needed to plan your play and play your plan.
Spend as little time as possible sniveling about the pair of 2s you were dealt. Next...
- Don your poker face
- Study the other cards on the table
- Read the faces of the other players in the game
- Plan your hand strategy and your exit strategy…
- Now execute your strategy and adapt to the game as it unfolds.
Life is dynamic, not static. Every day brings some new changes and variables into view that can affect your strategy and game plan. No big deal! Adapt, execute again, and prepare to adapt to each new variable.
People have won large pots of money with a pair of 2s. Those two weak cards had NOTHING to do with their success. Imagine how much their chances of winning would go down if they grimaced and winced at the sight of those two lonely, pathetic 2s. Without the ability, will, strength, and experience to view and quickly accept the ugly (bad) facts you’ve been dealt, you have very little chance of coming out ahead in the game of life.
Nothing here implies or states you must like the facts. You can hate them with absolute and complete disdain and loathing. Does all that hate-effort change the facts? NOPE!!!
Accept all facts as cards: then study… read… plan… execute… and adapt to the game of life once you accept the facts as they are.
“You got cancer.” That is one BUTT UGLY fact! It is a fact in my life that I hate... so does my Wendy.
Quickly accept it, prepare your game plan, then execute and adapt until you’ve won the round.
The=is game has one of two outcomes: win or…!
